Obama’s Inauguration

In my sick state I watched the inauguration.

I think it’s funny that the US adopted so many of the trappings of monarchy after the revolution. It’s really a (mostly) secular coronation. It seems that president’s feel the need to add “So help me god” to the required oath of office (check it out for yourself – paragraph 8, Section 1, Article 2 of the Constitution of the United States of America).

Those enlightenment rat-bags, the framers, they probably were a bunch of deists – they certainly didn’t want religion causing problems in the new government.

Anyway, it was great to see. The Roberts fluff was amusing, and it was fun watching Hillary mouthing along with the oath.

I really liked how the Obama’s walked the Bushes to the helicopter and waited for it to take off… just to make sure.
